While camped on the Goat River near Creston BC, Canada Rollins and I took a day off and went up Highway 3A to Crawford Bay with a visit to the Pilot Bay Lighthouse. Stops along the way including the North Woven Broom Shop, the Shabby Shack truck, Sirdar General Store and the abandoned Garage in Wynndel.

    Love this video for the unique reason that the small cafe located between the police station and the hotel was owned by my late grandparents. It was called the OK Cafe at the time. It’s surreal to see an area that is such a core memory for me personally, but random place in general, become “famous”. Thanks for taking the time to show off Rouleau. It’s a quiet but beautiful little town.

    This is just sad, if alot of them could be restored to former glory it would be alot better than looking at a photograph . Maybe it makes sense to some but to me it's like the billionaire who has over 300 vintage 1950s Gibson Les Paul guitars knowing that you can't play all them at once or need to have that many. It's something that wont be made again and if someone has the money then let'em buy one so that it can roll like it was meant to. Vanity of vanities.

    • @Wayneontheroad
      @Wayneontheroad Місяць тому

      Yeah I agree Christopher. But note that he eventually switched to the photography and museum based business model because no one was buying his parts anymore, let alone full cars. The demand just wasn't there anymore.

    • @Christopher-888
      @Christopher-888 Місяць тому

      @@Wayneontheroad I think it's fine if he wants to keep some cars for photos being art is subjective. There is a still a huge demand for old vehicles. It is just that everyone who has seen an old car in the shape those are in have asked and the owner either dont want to sell or is asking an arm & leg for something that will take way more to just restore and then it's not worth it for the buyer. If he sold them at a scrap metal price atleast the cars would get a second life & be bringing more happiness to people for a longer period of time. We will always have the pictures being they are on the internet but not the vehicles themselves in years to come. It's his vehicles and his choice but I rather let people have the best of both worlds than just one. Great video though.

    Here's a bit of advice for ya, if you're going to drive the Cabot Trail make sure you do it in a clockwise manner! Take the 105 (Do NOT speed through the Rez) and turn off to start it at "The Big Red Barn" just outside of Baddeck (unless you are planning to drive The Ceilidh Trail too). TRUST ME, totally different drive with MUCH better scenery than CCW! If you go sea kayaking in Meat Cove it's a near guarantee you'll see Pilot and likely Minke whales, possibly others such as humpback, white sided dolphins, and definitely curious seals! I found it sad that many Capers advised me to avoid the area stating that the locals were rude to outsiders before making serious claims that the locals were inbred hence the name, "because it's how they treat their siblings and first cousins!!" Nasty thing to say really. I showed up rather late just before dark to a full campground and the people there still found me a place to stay for the night!! They didn't want to accept full rate but I insisted as our impromptu tent site was just as good as any other! They apologized as they were out of picnic tables but we had folding chairs anyways, they then brought us over a steel fire pit and offered to cut down a tree for fire wood because they were unexpectedly busy and had completely sold out! I declined as I didn't want to disturb the other campers, but asked if i could collect a few sticks for a small cooking fire to roast a couple dogs and some marshmallows.. "Have at 'er B'y!" Kindest, friendliest and most welcoming of all Capers I met! A centuries old nasty stereotype from when the coastal mountain villages were very isolated, undoubtedly resurrected after the findings of the Goler Family. Ignore the rumours. Spend extended time in CB and you'll discover gossip is a very popular form of entertainment! Make sure you're up early enough to catch the amazing sunrise over the Atlantic!!

      Yeah, It should have been in a Honda box. And since the Generator came from Jacks Small Engines they should have either left it IN the Honda box or put it IN the Honda box. What company worth their salt would drop off a bare generator at Fed Ex and just tell them to ship it? No one. JSE sucks and I stand behind my original assessment of them.

You run with that, I'll stick with my initial assessment of JSE and that is that they suck. Even if JSE just dropped it off randomly at a FED Ex depot without any packaging I would still put it on them as I ordered a BRAND NEW Honda generator that should have arrived unopened in the proper box. Not a used one, NOT A FLOOR MODEL. So either way they fail in my book.

There was a couple of sales guys around, I talked to a Montana guy a little bit but yeah, Most of the selling I saw was going on around the big class A Motorcoaches. As for the drums, yeah it was a lightbulb moment, just to find something big enough to put a drum kit somewhere, and I've even found out that the electronic kits have come a long way since last I looked. I could essentially play anywhere. Just need the room. So we'll see what the future holds. 😉

    Thanks for the video. I know what you mean about the new Rvs... my motto has always been buy used, let the break in be someone else's headache 😂

    Excellent footage, especially drone footage to give birds eye view of the following day of what remained AFTER the worst of the storm hit. The close ups give an idea of just how deep it was the following day in places. Well done. !

    I DO NOT THINK EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS WHAT IS GOING ON IN OUR MESSED UP WORLD AT THIS POINT IN TIME????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WELL THIS IS A GIVEN THAT NOBODY CARES ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BIG REASON HERE IN THE U.S.A. IS THE PEOPLE WHOM WERE BORN IN THE YEARS 2000-2010 ARE NOW RUNNING LOWER TO MEDIUM ASPECTS OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT GOING TO JOB AND HAVING TO DO AS LITTLE WORK AS POSSIBLE FOR JUST BEING ABLE TO COLLECT THEIR PAYCHECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEN THERE OTHER PROBLEMS ADDED FOR MOST OF THEM NOW THAT THEY HAVE BEEN PAID GOT OUT AND PURCHASE MORE MARIJUANA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW TRY AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT LETS SAY A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT TO TAKE SOME XRAYS. THIS ASSISTANT SCHEDULES AN XRAY APPOINTMENT ON A FOLLOWING MONDAY. NOW WHEN SHOWING UP YOU FIND OUT THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A XRAY TECH IN ON ANY MONDAY SINCE THEY OPENED OVER 5 YEARS AND THIS ASSISTANT BEEN WORKING THERE FOR 11 YEARS.I WENT TO QUESTION HER AT THE SAME TIME I SMELLED MARIJUANA ON HER.SHE APOLOGIZES FOR SHE HAVE MIXED UP WITH THE BUS SCHEDULE AND OF COURSE I WAS NOT EVEN TAKING A BUS ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEN I ASKED ABOUT SMELL OF MARIJUANA AND SHE REPLIED "I HAVE A MARIJUANA CARD." You blame the seller but not the shipper Do you really think the shipper was handling your junk like it was fragile????? If they can throw stuff to save them a few steps they are going to Acting like a crybaby as you are isn’t fixing the problem

      The seller are the one's that packed it like this. Not me. To your point THE SELLER should have known that the shipper sometimes mishandles items and packed my $1200+ item appropriately. I'm not crying about it, I got the same generator from somewhere else. I'm just trying to make people aware of this crappy SELLER so they don't have to waste their time sending a broken item back. But hey no problem. Thanks for watching and commenting, My channel and the UA-cam algorithm thanks you.
